Volunteers
Volunteerism at East Neck is an enriching and exciting experience for our patients and serves to enhance the quality of life at our facility. At East Neck we are fortunate to have a core group of volunteers, both young and old, who are dedicated to "giving back" to the elders in our community and offer a variety of interactive volunteer services. Volunteers participate in recreational activities, including games, sports and education and serve as companions for our patients by socializing one-on-one, assisting with physical and occupational therapy and participating in meal times. Volunteering time at East Neck is priceless in value, as our volunteers contribute to making our patients’ stay here more pleasurable and complete.
Volunteering schedules are flexible and based upon the availability of the individual volunteer. Giving of themselves and their time and with great appreciation from patients, families and staff, volunteers are able to spend time with our patients during days, evenings, and weekends.

Welcoming Patients, Visitors and Friends
At East Neck, we perform in-house laboratory testing that often eliminates the need to send patients outside of the facility for necessary medical tests. We routinely screen patients for strep throat, mononucleosis and influenza and perform basic blood sugar, urinary and other laboratory testing as needed. Our practitioners will collect blood samples and send them out to outside laboratories for tests we do not perform in-house. For patients requiring x-ray imaging, East Neck conveniently performs in-house radiologic imaging using our digital x-ray system.
